During the summer, there are a wealth of cultural festivals throughout the region including the World renowned Marciac Jazz festival in August, Mirande Country & Western festival (July) and the lively Latin celebrations at Vic Fezensac.
Every day, there is a market within 20 minutes drive of the gite and these provide an excellent opportunity to buy the high quality local produce and truly get a feel for the French way of life.
Gascony is well known for its excellent cuisine and there are several good bistros and restaurants within a short distance of the house.
The large lake at Monpardiac (10 minutes walk away) is suitable for swimming and fishing and on balmy evenings, campfire meals can be arranged. Alternatively, there are excellent lidos at both Mirande and Marciac.
There is a 18 hole golf course with chateau/restaurant 15 minutes drive away.
Excellent fishing is to be had, particularly at Marciac Lake where they boast of holding the largest carp in France. For smaller fry and a chance to glimpse the evasive coypu, there are the two lakes within easy walking distance of the hamlet.
